Equipoise is an anabolic steroid developed primarily for veterinary use, particularly in treating horses to promote lean muscle mass. Bodybuilders have also found favor with this compound due to its strong anabolic effects; it has the same anabolic ratio as testosterone and acts as a mild androgenic steroid, about half that of testosterone. Equipoise has a profound effect on nitrogen retention, which maximizes anabolic effects. Balancing nitrogen retention is crucial in bodybuilding because intense training and heavy exercise can cause the body to enter a catabolic state known as "negative nitrogen balance," leading to muscle loss. By promoting positive nitrogen balance, Equipoise creates an essential anabolic/anti-catabolic environment for building muscle.
Equipoise can be used as both a bulking agent and in cutting stacks. For example, it can be stacked with testosterone for bulking purposes and benefit from its ability to increase appetite. Alternatively, it can be combined with Anavar or Winstrol for cutting cycles. Boldenone, the active ingredient in Equipoise, has a significant effect on lean muscle mass and can add extreme vascularity when used alone or alongside oxandrolone.
Many websites suggest a generally weekly dose of 200 to 600 mg; however, I would not recommend anything under 400 mg at minimum. I find a comfortable dosage between 600 and 700 mg per week but start to experience anxiety if pushed past the 800 mg mark. I did not find any significant benefits beyond the 700 mg per week mark. For women, I would recommend no more than 150 mg per week, but preferably a lower dose between 50 and 100 mg per week. Boldenone used to be available in 25 and 50 mg/ml versions, but thankfully times have changed. Injection protocol should be at least once a week to maintain the blood vessels intact and stable.
Since Equipoise has a long-acting ester with an active life of 14 to 16 days, one needs to cycle this steroid for at least 12 weeks. A preferred cycle length would be between 14 and 16 weeks to achieve maximum benefits from this steroid. I found that this drug really starts to take effect around the sixth week, with reports of increased appetite as early as the second week. As Equipoise is a mild androgenic steroid, people who are sensitive to Gynecomastia can generally tolerate a dose of around 400 mg per week without experiencing any early signs such as itchy/sensitive or puffy nipples. I would still advise keeping anastrozole (Arimidex) on hand or running a low maintenance dose of 0.2 mg every other day and adjusting if necessary. If you are concerned about drug testing, this is not the steroid for you as reports have said Boldenone is detectable in urine samples up to 5+ months due to production of metabolites. Another positive effect from this drug would be a very low or minimal increase in blood pressure; however, since it increases red blood cells (RBC), you may find that this could change quickly later into the cycle, so I would monitor your readings throughout.
